Our Story

BUILT ON RELATIONSHIPS
AND A STRAPPING WORK ETHIC.

Three generations of family craftsmanship since 1967—now proudly part of Binders Inc., carrying the same tradition forward.

1967 — The Beginning

A Love for Making Things

Like many family-owned companies, Visual Products, Inc. built its business on the strength of relationships and a strapping work ethic. A great love for "making things" drew Carroll Breed, Jr. into manufacturing—and eventually a position as plant manager for a binder company in New York.

He moved into a sales position with the same company in North Carolina, and when the entrepreneurial spirit took hold, Carroll and several partners began Visual Products in 1967. Within a few years the partners had been bought out and the company was entirely family-owned. In an era when family companies were usually destined to be father-and-son operations, Visual Products became Carroll & Jean Breed—and daughters.

The Next Generation

Learning by Doing

Youngest daughter Gail literally grew up in the company—spending school snow days, afternoons and weekends with her parents in the office and plant. Beginning as a young assistant, she quickly took responsibility for shipping and inventory, gained hands-on experience in every area of the business, and officially joined the company in 1978. Oldest daughter Marsha arrived in 1984 and, like the rest of the family, learned by doing.

Honoring their parents' vision and embracing the work ethic instilled in everyone here, the sisters piloted Visual Products into its third generation of leadership with Gail's oldest daughter, Angela Osborne. Angela grew up working in the plant during summers and school breaks and officially joined the team in 2005, taking on sales & marketing with a deep knowledge of manufacturing and a love of all things binders and packaging.

Early 2000's

Women-Owned. Family-Operated. Third Generation.

In the early 2000s, Visual Products, Inc. thrived as a women-owned, family-operated, third-generation company. Lines between roles were often transparent, since every family member was engaged in building the success of the business. Relationships were the key to that success—family and employee relationships inside the company, and strong customer relationships across the country.

The company remained headquartered in the heart of the Piedmont Triad, with offices and manufacturing operations in High Point, North Carolina. Although Carroll Breed passed away in 1996, his love for making products of exceptional quality—and his reputation for giving excellent service—lived on in the endeavors of his daughters and granddaughter. That era of family stewardship built the company Visual Products is today, and set the stage for its next chapter.

2022 — A New Chapter

Joining the Binders Inc. Family

In 2022, Visual Products was acquired by Binders Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina—another American manufacturer with deep roots, founded in 1981 and built on the same values of craftsmanship, service and lasting relationships.

Today, Visual Products, Inc. is owned and operated by Binders Inc. Together, the combined companies bring more than 100 years of binder and packaging expertise under one roof. The High Point legacy lives on: the same people, the same dedication to quality, now backed by the strength and capabilities of the Binders Inc. family—serving customers across the country from the heart of North Carolina.
